Opening a company in Bosnia and Herzegovina - Requirements and Costs

A limited liability company, commonly referred to as a d.o.o., is one of the most common forms of business in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Both domestic and foreign individuals or legal entities may establish an LLC, subject to the applicable registration requirements.

What is required?

The registration process generally includes:

  • preparation of the founding act

  • payment of the required share capital

  • court registration

  • tax registration

  • opening a business bank account

  • registration of employees, where applicable

Additional permits may be required depending on the business activity.

What are the costs?

The total cost depends on several factors, including court fees, notarization, translations, administrative fees and the specific structure of the company.

Foreign founders may also need certified and translated corporate or personal documents.
